Lancing came from behind to pick up a vital Isthmian South east Division three points in Sammy Morgan’s first game in charge.

Morgan took control for the first time on Saturday afternoon and will be pleased to get off the mark as goals from Noel Fisher and Knory Scott secured a first league win in 10 games for the Lancers.

A cold afternoon in West Sussex greeted the 202 in attendance as the Nuts & Bolts made all the early running. With Theo Osinfolarin and Preston Kedwell down the flanks providing pace the visitors had outlets all afternoon and it was from there the opening goal arrived.

A ball over the top to Kedwell caught out the Lancers backline and as Alieu Secka came rushing out Kedwell popped the ball into the middle for Gary Lockyer to head the ball into an empty net.

There were flashes from the home side but a lack of desire to pull the trigger in front of goal, Mitchell Beeney with comfortable saves for what did come his way, the visitors heading into the break having not tested Secka further.

The home side started the stronger of the two in the second half and were rewarded ten minutes in, Fisher cutting in from the left hand side and firing past Beeney for the equaliser.

That seemed to jolt the visitors and galvanise the Lancers and just after the hour mark they were in front, Scott being put through and as Beeney didn’t claim the ball, an easy tap in and the home side in the lead.

Both sides had chances to score again but with both keepers equal to their efforts the Lancers held on to taste victory for the first time since 21st September.
