New Hastings Utd boss Danny Searle began with a win on Saturday afternoon as his side won a vital three points at Chichester City.
Searle who only arrived at the Pilot Field three days ago saw his charges win 3-2 at Oaklands Park to get off to the perfect start. It’s been a very stop start campaign for the U’s so far but this victory lifted the side out of the bottom four.
Having seen the hosts come back from 2-0 down at half time to level just before the hour mark, Davide Rodari came off the bench to fire home the winner in front 276 spectators.
The 46 year old began the season at National League Ebbsfleet Utd having steered the club to safety last time arriving in February to navigate some choppy waters.
However, the ex Aldershot boss was dismissed in early September after a poor start with the Fleet bottom of the table and still unable to move away from that position.
It represents something of a coup for Hastings to attract Searle to the South Coast given his previous managerial experience at higher levels and abroad.
The new manager get’s a week to install some new ideas with Tuesday night’s trip to Horsham postponed due to the Hornet’s involvement in the FA Trophy.
Hastings are next in action on Saturday as they head to second placed Billericay Town (ko 3pm).
