The first half of the game was a bit lacklustre. The only positive to take from it was the passing, as every pass seemed to be going to the right person. A lot of the plays, however, weren’t getting to where they needed to be. We had a couple of chances in the box, but not a lot that greatly affected them. You couldn’t really see anything coming out of that half until we got a free kick from outside the box, where Ashton Leigh hammered it top bins to put us 1-0 up going into the second half.

The second half was a bit more productive, with the players really putting their all into it. Then, out of nowhere, one of the Dial Square players kicked the ball from just outside the box, and it went over our keeper and straight into the goal. It was a great shot.

They had another goal which was eventually given offside, but for about two minutes the ref gave it, even though the lino had his flag up the whole time.

The plays we were making were quality, and one finally led to a second goal from Zach Willett, who dribbled around the defence and slotted it in calmly. Not even two minutes later, Zach Willett was back up again and scored a disgusting chip over the keeper to make it two goals for himself.

Once again, not long after his second, he was back up there and scored his hat-trick, continuing his consecutive hat-trick streak. But it wasn’t just special because of that — it was special because he broke the club record for the most consecutive hat-tricks, previously held by an ex-player of ours called Danny Phillips.

Full time finished 4-1.
