Archie Cramer on His Spell in Charge of Horsham YM

Manager’s Notes · SCFL Premier
I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity and the challenge of taking charge of Horsham YM over these two games. It’s been difficult trying to put together a strong group of players in such a short space of time, but Tuesday night against Forest Row showed exactly what this group can produce. The lads worked incredibly hard, competed for everything and deserved the result.
Saturday against Lancing was the complete opposite. Credit to Dale and his team, but from our point of view we were miles off the levels we showed on Tuesday. We didn’t win enough second balls and lacked that quality and end product in the final third. We’re a young group, but that can’t be used as an excuse — the standards have to be higher.
A massive thank you has to go to the different managers and clubs who have helped me bring players in, whether through loans, dual registrations or simply helping me out at short notice. That support has been massively appreciated.
I’ve loved the experience and we’ll see what comes next. Me and Truss might be taking the team again on Tuesday and, if that’s what’s needed, we’ll embrace the challenge and give it everything again.
If not then it’s been a massive achievement from myself and my team and I wish the new manager the very best.
