Our first winner for October is Southern Combination Premier Division side Hassocks.

The Robins are the only unbeaten side left in Sussex amongst the 56 clubs we cover. A single point keeps them clear at the top of the table after a 5-1 weekend win over in-form AFC Varndeanians extended their unbeaten league run to 11 matches and a club record 7th successive league win.

Our second winner for October also comes from the Southern Combination Premier Division, Haywards Heath Town.

Heath plundered 14 goals whilst conceding only once as they progressed in the Sussex Transport Senior Cup and kept the pressure on leaders Hassocks at the top of the table.

Our penultimate winners for October are Southern Combination Division One side Arundel. The Mullets progressed to the 2nd Round Proper of the Isuzu FA Vase at the weekend by knocking out one level higher Guildford City 4-3 on penalties, a 0-0 scoreline at the end of 90 minutes.

They face another tough draw in the next round away for the third successive game as they take on Step 5 Southern Counties East Premier Division current leaders VCD Athletic.

Our final October winners are Worthing FC. A strong end to the month culminating with wins over Slough Town and Bath City has propelled the Rebels into 5th spot in the National League South, a place behind Eastbourne Borough and just two points off the top of the table.

Our monthly winners for October are Haywards Heath Town FC. The Southern Combination Premier Division league leaders polled 40% of the 461 votes cast. Hassocks FC finished runners up with 26%, Arundel FC with 19% and Worthing FC with 15%.
