The SNLF are pleased to announce that we will be supporting Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans, one of our local branches, throughout the 2025/26 season.

Life can be tough at a moment’s notice and not everyone has someone to talk to. The typical ebb and flow of a football season can hit some people hard.

As we are in the close season, maybe some of us are really finding it a real challenge to fill the huge void on a Saturday afternoon or a Tuesday evening until next season kicks off. We may be particularly missing the voices of friends and being part of a like-minded community.

We want to give our friends, family and followers a pathway to help and we hope this will be of use to you or someone you know.

Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans Branch

The Samaritans vision and drive is that fewer people die by suicide.

Brighton Hove & District Samaritans are there every day and night for anyone struggling to cope, in despair or in crisis. Their volunteers listen to over 3,000 callers every month.

They are also active in the community: at railways stations, sixth form colleges, Pride, Trans Pride and working with local organisations offering support and training. They will soon announce a significant collaboration ‘close to home’ which will reach more people at risk of suicide. Watch this space!

Samaritans want to reach more people in need, letting them know about the free 24-hour service and providing a safe space to talk about what’s going on for them.

If you would like support, please call Samaritans on the free number 116 123 or you can also contact them on ‘www.samaritans.org’.

If you would like to talk about working together with them to raise funds and/or awareness please email ‘[email protected]’.

Brighton Hove and District Samaritans are totally reliant on donations to fund their branch which is entirely run by volunteers. If you are able to help, and you would like to donate please follow this link using the reference ‘SNLF’ and thank you!

Thank you.
