Bexhill Utd overcame a half time deficit to progress to the the next round of the Emirates FA Cup at the expense of Combined Counties side Sheerwater.

A goal from 16 year old Theo Coombs was the icing on the cake as the Pirates came through the Extra Preliminary Round tie with a a strong second half performance.

Goals from Jack Shonk, who provided the equaliser, and then Ryan Moir put Bexhill in front front before Coombs’ strike sealed a pay day for the East Sussex side and cup progress.

With his goal Coombs entered himself into the Pirates history book as the youngest ever goal scorer and his attention will turn to finding the net in the opening Southern Combination Premier Division match next weekend.

Bexhill will host Isthmian South Central side Raynes Park Vale in the Preliminary Round in two weeks time aiming to make club history having never reached the qualifying rounds in past campaigns.
