A first half Freddie Parker hat-trick sent Bognor Regis to their fourth straight defeat on a bright afternoon in West Sussex.
In front of a crowd of 635, the ex-Sevenoaks Town front man put the Rocks to the sword with a 30 minute three goal salvo to put the Millers firmly in control of the game. Jasper Mather brought the hosts back into contention in first half stoppage time and despite Spencer Spurway unleashing a 20 yard rocket at the end of 90 minutes, the visitors went home with the points.
The hosts, still missing key experienced players through injury, went behind on 14 minutes, Parker firing home Fumi Shomotun’s cross. The striker doubled the Millers lead on 33 minutes with a delightful header from Barney Williams pin-point cross.
Parker’s treble was secured two minutes before half time, flicking the ball over Callum Davies before slotting past Ryan Hall from an acute angle.
Mather gave the home side a glimmer of hope latching onto a defensive error and slotting past Max Ovenden for the Rocks’ first goal as the first half came to a close.
Despite the majority of the ball in the second half Bognor couldn’t find a way past Ovenden until the 92nd minute, Spurway with a superb strike from distance but too little too late for the home side and they remain in the Isthmian Premier Division bottom four.
