Three Bridges continued their fine form in the Isthmian South East Division on Tuesday evening as they brushed aside bottom of the table East Grinstead Town.

On a wet and windswept night at Jubilee Field, Bridges made light work of their opponents as the visitors struggled to keep pace with their possession based game.

But it wasn’t one way traffic to begin with, Bridges neat and tidy but Town’s rear guard coping well with the wide play the home side were employing.

A shot traded each on target was the sum of the first 30 minutes, but six minutes later the breakthrough followed and the hosts were in front.

Nabeel Ghannam’s cross from the right was headed back across goal by Kevin Rivera and Noel Leighton managed to loop a header over Dan O’Donovan’s reach for the opening score of the game.

Four minutes later, the lead was doubled as Leighton fired home from the right hand side of the penalty area notching his and Bridges’ second in quick succession for a healthy half time lead.

The third goal arrived just after the hour mark when the impressive Bryan Villavicencio fired in an unstoppable finish at O’Donovan’s near post.

Leighton had chances to complete his hat-trick but the keeper was equal to both chances, however he was powerless to stop the home side adding a fourth with 13 minutes to play, Ade Adeyinka played clean through and slotting nicely past the keeper.

The rout was complete in stoppage time as Adeyinka matched Leighton for a brace and a comprehensive win for the league leaders, buoyed by a second 4-1 defeat for Faversham Town inside three days and AFC Whyteleafe held to a 3-3 draw.

Bridges head to promotion rivals AFC Croydon Athletic this coming Saturday whilst East Grinstead host play-off chasing Merstham, both ko’s 3.03pm.
