Bexhill Utd are gearing up to welcome overseas visitors to their Polegrove ground for the first time in over 100 years of football history in the town with the visit of Guernsey this coming Saturday.
The Pirates are expecting another big crowd for the game with kick off at 2pm due to the visitors needing time to get back to the airport for their return flight to the Channel Islands.
The bar and hot food outlets will be open at the Polegrove and the club are encouraging fans to arrive early and spend some money with every penny earned returned back into grassroots football in Bexhill.
A spokesperson for the Bexhill committee said:
‘We are delighted to be hosting Guernsey this coming weekend for what will be an historic occasion for the football club.
We are hoping that the town will turn out in big numbers to give our visitors a warm reception and to cheer the Pirates on.
There has been a real buzz around the Polegrove this season and we’ve already had two attendances of over 250 people which is fantastic for the level. We hope to beat those numbers on Saturday afternoon and we are urging everyone to help us spread the word.
With both sides vying for a place in the top five of the Southern Combination Premier Division, it should be a fascinating encounter, one that you shouldn’t want to miss.’
