Hassocks moved into the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Isuzu FA Vase but injury hit Storrington pushed them hard in testing conditions, especially in the first half.

Alex Fair got the home side underway, a contentious goal with the linesman flagging for a Hassocks offside in the build-up. The referee overruled, giving a corner to the hosts which Fair headed home from close in to give the home side the lead.

Will Berry got the second from a well worked set piece, stabbing home at the far post from a Morgan Vale flick on to give the hosts a two goal buffer at the break.

The hosts third was the pick of the goals, a lovely turn in the box from Alfie Loversidge was knocked out wide and whipped into the centre by Tom Frankland, Josh Mundy stooping to head the ball into the bottom corner.

Further goals from Cavan Chedzey from the spot after Harvey Blake had been pulled down in the box, and a late brace from Ruari Farrell as Storrington tired confirmed Hassocks’ passage into the next round, the sun finally shining as the hosts continued their fine star to the season.
