Littlehampton Town moved into the next round of the Emirates FA Cup on Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over North Greenford Utd.

Town continued their fine start to the new season at The Sportsfield but could have won by a more convincing margin. The Golds should have been in front at various points through the first half as the visitors struggled to get themselves into the game.

The opening goal of the game did arrive spot on 45 minutes when Dave Herbert’s whipped free kick found the head of Louis Puttock who glanced the ball home.

The game turned on a moment three minutes into the second half, Utd with a penalty after Oscar Johnston clipped the heels of an on-rushing forward, but keeper Billy Collings produced a superb save to keep Littlehampton in the lead.

The home side had to wait until the 78th minute for a second when substitute Matt Storm bundled the ball home from a Marcel Powell cross to give Town some breathing space.

Deep into stoppage time Tijan Sparks flicked in Kyle O’Brien’s well delivered corner to put the gloss on a fine performance in front of 263 spectators, four wins in a row and three clean sheets the perfect start for joint bosses Mitch Hand and George Gaskin.
