Bexhill Utd came out second best to local rivals Little Common in the annual Christmas derby fixture on Saturday afternoon.
Common were quick out of the blocks and in front after just four minutes, Paul Feakins capitalising on some poor communication within the Pirates defensive ranks.
From that point Bexhill found themselves running into walls with former Hastings Utd favourite Sammy Adams running the show in midfield. The Pirates had one decent chance just before the break but Common keeper Matt Cruttwell managed to smother the ball close to the goal line to protect the visitors advantage.
The wind had picked up to start the second half and was to become a significant factor, making any attempt at free flowing football tricky but it was Little Common who seemed to adapt better to the conditions and on 67 minutes they doubled their lead through Freddie Warren and effectively killed off the game, the visitors worthy winners.
The Pirates have a chance to make amends this coming Saturday afternoon with another home clash with in-form Peacehaven & Telscombe, kick off 3pm.
Fans will also be able to take advantage of a half-season ticket offer with a pass for the remaining nine home games priced at £40 for adults, £25 for concessions and just £5 for Under 18’s.
